What is your impression of the sixties era?
My impression of the sixties era is a very outgoing, funky and colourful. The fashion shows were big and clashing and modern for their time. This includes mini skirts, flares, headbands and more. It seemed like a fun and experimental period which everyone embraced. The music was upbeat and fun but also lyrical and full of soul. Overall meaning the sixties were very care free and positive despite the occurrences that were negative.
where does this come from?
This impression comes from the trailer we watched in class for Austin Powers. We see the popular colourful style with big hair and styling points. We see the typical surroundings and backgrounds of what the sixties would have been typically like for those who experienced it so I think this is reliable. They use their clothing, music and places the freedom to express themselves. In the trailer we see some comedy and punch lines so this gives me the impression that everyone was fun and joked around.
